Day 1 of my Hair, Skin, and Nail Challenge

Hey family,

So I woke up today ready to begin this challenge and thought to myself about what it is going to take to complete this challenge. Sure it is going to take the It Works hair, skin, and nails supplements but it will also take a level of commitment to myself. I always get to the point of doing an amazing job of doing things at the beginning and then fizzling (yes I said fizzling) out some where in the middle.

This time I can not, no, will not do that. I start to see results and then I start telling myself “I’m good. I can stop here”. Well not this time. I have a plan and a darn good one too. You know what part of my plan will be? You guys! Yes you. Accountability is a key and crucial component to attaining certain goals. For me it will be critical not because I can not attain said goal (in this case this challenge) but because I like the company and camaraderie. It makes the journey fun and I am all about fun! Woot Woot!

So, there is more to this challenge than just taking supplements. This is a lifestyle change, this is a start to seeing a transformation right before your eyes. I get to be transparent and you get to laugh at me join me. So I am going to show you some before pics now and lets see what happens along the way.

If you are looking to experience some fantastic results with me (that is what I am calling it) then come along for the ride. I would love the company ( I will also share some healthy tips as well). If you just want to sit on the sidelines, thats cool too because I hope through this challenge that those who are rooting on the sidelines will one day be apart of the race.

Garlicky Kale and Cabbage

Garlicky Kale and Cabbage

I have a confession to make.. I LOVE cabbage. To me it is one of those vegetables that I don’t put in the same category of vegetables. You know what I mean? Like when someone starts going through the list of vegetables that you can add to your dietary eating habits and you frown because you don’t like them. I am like, “you shouldn’t even have to mention cabbage because that should have automatically been in your rotation”. Yes, that is exactly how I feel.

So last night, I knew that I wanted cabbage for dinner. I knew it as soon as I woke up that morning. I went to the store and picked up a cabbage and low and behold what was looking at me was the kale. Now I will eat kale in various ways but I have never thought to mix kale with my beloved cabbage, until yesterday. My head was swarming with how to prepare a dish with both vegetables (more on the different ways that ran through my head later) but I decided upon something simple to just try to flavor profile of the combo. What came about was something flavorful and awesome. I can not believe I have never mixed to two before now but it surely won’t me my last time.

So my love affair with cabbage is about to include having a little relationship with kale every so often. Since they both pack a host of nutritional elements I can’t  go wrong.

My crew enjoyed it and asked for seconds, so needless to say this will be a great go to dish in this household. I pray that you enjoy it as much as we did.

Garlicky Kale and Cabbage

(serves 6)

1- large cabbage (chopped)

1 lb of Kale (stems removed and chopped)

3 cloves of garlic (minced)

1 tablespoon of avocado oil

1 small onion (diced)

1 tablespoon of parsley (chopped)

salt and pepper (as desired)

Sauté onion in a shallow skillet with avocado oil on medium heat. Sauté until onion is translucent (about 5-7 minutes). Add garlic and let it cook for 1 minute. Add kale to skillet and cook for two minutes (tossing occasionally). Add cabbage, toss with kale and place the lid on skillet for about 2-3 minutes. Add parsley and salt and pepper to taste.

Eat your veggies,

90 Day Hair, Skin, and Nail Challenge!

Hello my peeps!

I am so excited for what is getting ready to happen! I have two challenges that I will be doing! One is a 7 day healthy living challenge (more info about that later) and a 90 day hair, skin, and nail challenge. I have always had challenges with my hair and have been happy with my results in the past but now I am ready to take it up a notch and include my nails and skin along with it.

I am also extending this challenge to any one who would like to join me on the journey. I will be starting this challenge on May 2, 2016. If you know of anyone who would like to participate in the party, let me know. I will be posting weekly here on my blog but I will also share on Facebook as well.

Though you do not have to use and products or supplements to join, I will be using It Works Hair skin and Nail supplements. I am ready to show the world that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. I want to help others live their best life and we are going to take it one day at a time.

Let’s do this family!!!

Much love,

Welcome & Enjoy

Hello family and welcome to my blog. I have started a few blogs in my day but this one will be long-lasting one. I can feel it! Pictured above is a part of my family. We have ten children total and the ones not shown are grown (our children pictured here are the ones who are not out of the house yet). I think it is important when introducing yourself or catching up with someone, to show a little bit about what is going on in your world. This is going on in my world…My family. It is what helps drive me. God is my strength and he has allowed my awesome hubby and kids to do life with me.

I am going to be sharing about my world and the things within it who make me who I am. I am not going to say that… No, I am going to say it…It will be FUN. I have had some incredible things go on in my life and I want to share it with you all. There are gong to be some hilarious days and not so hilarious days but I promise that you will enjoy. So, grab a nice cup of coffee, tea, or whatever beverage that suits ya, get comfy, and hang out with me… Hang out with B.
